Prominent Ski Apache Winter Sporting Events Focus of Attention

Two eagerly anticipated winter sporting events have commenced on the scenic downhill slopes of Ruidoso’s outstanding winter resort – Ski Apache. competitors may enter the Apache Star Races that presents skiers and snowboarders with ample challenges or the demanding Ski Apache Terrain Park Competitions, both of which commenced on Jan. 7, but will again be run on Jan. 14 (the Terrain Park Competitions also took place on Jan. 9).

This is just one more Ruidoso occurrence, where family and friends – as well as fans of each venue – can get together and be entertained while enjoying the mountain vistas of the area.

•    The Apache Star Races: This event will next take place on Jan. 14, beginning at 9 a.m., and will utilize the Smokey Bear Trail beneath the Gondola line. The racecourse will challenge skiers/snowboarders as they avoid trees and swerve through race gates. The competition will time each contestant and will allow them to challenge themselves as well as friends and contenders alike for the speediest run.
