What’s new in Ruidoso in 2026? Plenty! A lot has happened since last time you were here. Let’s catch you up on everything you won’t want to miss in the village.
NATURAL GROCERS – RUIDOSO’S NEWEST GROCERY STORE
Ruidoso’s newest grocery store, Natural Grocers, opened in March, and the village is LOVING it. Inside, you’ll find all-natural products, including 100% organic produce, quality supplements, clean body care, and great groceries at affordable prices. This will be a great addition to our community, especially during high season when grocery stores can get crowded!

ALTO CAFE – A LOCAL FAVORITE UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP
Local favorite Alto Cafe is a short cruise up beautiful, mountain-view-studded Mechem Drive from Ruidoso. While it has a continuing legacy of serving delicious home-cooked favorites, it was taken over by new owners, the Balderrama’s, in early 2025, and they have made it even better! They have livened up the place by bringing in a full bakery to complement the beloved cafe menu and a welcoming, “like family” atmosphere.
BOSQUE COFFEE & CREPES – LOCAL FOOD TRUCK TURNED COFFEE SHOP
Bosque Coffee & Crepes is Ruidoso’s newest brick-and-mortar coffee shop and you’re going to love it! They’ve won the hearts of those in the village with their food truck, serving incredible crepes and fresh, locally roasted coffee beans, but their new, permanent location at 100 Vision Dr. will feature more to love, with a drive-thru, seasonal outdoor seating, and a full menu of favorites. Add it to your list of places to visit while you’re here!

IRONMAN 70.3 – RUIDOSO HOSTS 2026 TRIATHLON
The IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon is a prestigious event that rotates locations yearly. For the first time in history, Ruidoso will host the competition, set for July 12th. It will test the endurance of athletes across our village’s diverse terrain. Participants will swim 1.2 miles in Grindstone Lake, cycle 56 miles through mountain roads, and finish with a 13.1-mile run through the village. We look forward to seeing the village come together to cheer on these incredible athletes!
“UP” – LINCOLN COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER’S COLORFUL MURAL
Lincoln County Medical Center features a new, multi-story mural, titled “UP” by local artist Michael Fish (artbyfish). Representative of the healing and safety hospitals provide, the mural and its name are dedicated to healthcare workers and their patients as a reminder to “never give up” and “always look up”. To find it, drive east past the hospital, turn right on Sutton, and look around the ER.

JACK’S BACKSTAGE – COOL CONCERTS & EVENTS
Jack’s Backstage isn’t a new business, but they have been ramping up their events and entertainment, and their upcoming happenings are no exception! Bringing big names to town across genres like Rock, Country, Blues, and Metal, they also have a full schedule of unique events, competitions, and themed nights where visitors can take full advantage of the food trucks, bar, and epic atmosphere.
