Downshift Brewing Company acquires Sacred Grounds Coffee & Tea House to expand the craft
beer, craft coffee, and live music scene in Ruidoso.
RUIDOSO, NEW MEXICO: Downshift Brewing Company announced the acquisition of Sacred
Grounds Coffee & Tea House today, a new taproom location for the local brewery. Downshift will
close the space for renovations and plans to open Downshift Brewing Co. Riverside in mid-May
2023 at 2704 Sudderth Dr. Ruidoso, NM 88345.
We will have a twenty tap wall for our craft beers, as well as house-made nitro cold brew. We
will be continuing the fresh roasted, small batch coffee and tea that Sacred has been known for,
as well as expanding on it in some fresh new ways.
“Having known Sacred Grounds since it originally opened as a much smaller shop when my
wife, Shelby, and I were in high school, through the years to the beautiful welcoming space it is
today, we are excited and honored to continue its legacy,” says Eddie Gutierrez, co-founder and
brewer at Downshift.
Live music and events will be in heavy rotation emphasizing local talent, as well as national
touring acts. With multiple levels of decks overlooking the Rio Ruidoso and tall pines, Downshift
Brewing Company’s Riverside location will also feature a full menu for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Keeping with Sacred’s long standing tradition of excellent breakfast and baked goods,
fans of Sacred’s famous ginger crackle cookies, quiche and other favorites can feel confident
knowing they’ll remain on the menu.
