The Village of Ruidoso is thrilled to announce that our community has been selected to host IRONMAN 70.3 Ruidoso on July 11–12, 2026, marking a major milestone in our growing reputation as a destination for world-class endurance events.

This prestigious triathlon joins the previously announced 2026 XTERRA World Championships, further establishing Ruidoso as a premier location for both off-road and road-based endurance competitions.

IRONMAN 70.3 features a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile road bike ride, and 13.1-mile run, attracting elite athletes and fans from across the globe.

Ruidoso’s diverse terrain offers athletes a unique opportunity to push their limits while surrounded by stunning views from the towering peaks of Sierra Blanca to the pristine lakes and pine forests. Prepare for a scenic journey through Ruidoso’s mountainous terrain as you leap into the clear waters of Grindstone Lake, cycle through picturesque rolling mountain roads, and finish on foot, winding through the charming mountain village and scenic neighborhoods as you Race the Peaks.
