One of our favorite events of the year is back at Jacks Backstage.

Last year we had to cancel because of a weather threat and it flat out broke our hearts. This year we made sure to give the Long Dog Derby plenty of breathing room on the calendar so we can run it the way it is supposed to be run.

Saturday May 16 the fastest, funniest, longest and most questionable looking weenie dogs around will hit the track in Ruidoso.

We are talking $5,000+ in prizes, a packed crowd and a whole lot of dachshund chaos.

Along with the main race we will also be running a handful of crowd favorite contests including:

• Best Dressed
• Long Weenie
• Short Weenie
• Fat Weenie
• Slow Weenie
• Hairy Weenie
• Funny Colored Weenie

Registration is $30 per dog.

Whether you are racing a dog or just coming to watch the madness, this is one of those Ruidoso events that gets the whole place smiling.
